Created by artist and scholar, Dr. Fahamu Pecou, BLACK BOY JOURNAL™ is a collection of writings and images that capture the unique realities of growing up as a Black boy. The journal gives voice to the awkward, brave, complex, and dynamic experiences Black men face in “becoming”, images that have rarely been depicted.
Each issue centers on a unique theme related to the Black male experience.
Vol 1/ 1 “Rite on” explores the idea of rites of passage for Black boys, both traditional and unconventional. This issue features contributions from Danny Simmons, Jr., Charly Palmer, Jon Goode, Artemus Jenkins, and marcus harvey and more.
(BLACK BOY JOURNAL™ is currently available as a digital publication. Limited print copies will be available in the near future.)
